Political Forecasting and In-Depth Studies, Volume 1, Part 1 (1), February 2026

Political Forecasting and In-Depth Analysis (Quarterly), February 2026, Vol. 1, No. 1 (Inaugural Issue). A Review and Forecast of the Hong Kong Issue.

Political Forecasting and In-Depth Quarterly, Volume 1, Issue 1. The inaugural issue focuses on reviewing “historical prophecies related to the Hong Kong issue.” This is done to demonstrate a principle: by verifying past prophecies, it can be shown that “individuals have a real chance of defeating powerful state institutions—including superpowers like Britain and the United States—in major political predictions.”

Ye Qiquan, nicknamed “Crazy Ye” by his friends, is known for making political predictions that “completely contradict mainstream institutions and academia.” The sad truth is that his predictions often come true, defeating those mainstream institutions and academia who scorned him. The Hong Kong issue is one example, as is the Ukraine war (to be discussed in Part 2). Of course, his area of expertise remains the China issue (to be discussed in subsequent installments).

Ye Qiquan (يي راعي الينبوع; Ye Qiquan, יה צ’יקואן; 예치천, Е Чицюань) made several political predictions and warnings in 2003, 2014, and 2019. He warned that the British policy toward Hong Kong would inevitably jeopardize Britain’s long-term interests and lead to the premature end of Britain’s political presence in Hong Kong. Furthermore, he strongly criticized the political shortsightedness of Hong Kong residents and the political failure of the Carrie Lam government.

Even powerful national institutions like those of Britain and the United States, attempting to maximize their political interests in Hong Kong, ultimately failed in the very outcome predicted by Ip Kei-chuen more than a decade ago. Britain’s failure extended beyond ending its political presence in Hong Kong 27 years prematurely; it also destroyed its largest overseas intelligence base. Furthermore, it severely weakened the ability of these two superpowers, Britain and the United States, to dominate the international order.

Ye Qiquan made a series of predictions about the war in Ukraine in April, May, and June of 2022. The course of the war over the past four years has gradually validated these predictions. Political journals at the time unanimously considered Ye Qiquan’s predictions “crazy and unfounded.” If the countries involved had followed these predictions, Europe could have saved at least hundreds of billions of dollars in unnecessary spending and avoided hundreds of thousands of casualties. (To be published in the August 2026 issue, Part 3).

Ye Qiquan’s commentary and predictions regarding the entanglement of three political forces in China have been validated by recent political changes. Due to the time-limited nature of this series, it has been moved from its original August issue to the April 2026 issue, issue 2.

This is the most comprehensive and in-depth collection of documents to date studying China’s “July 1st Mechanism.” China will issue a notice on July 1, 2025, announcing the establishment of a “Central Committee Decision-Making and Coordination Body.” This is essentially a notice of a transfer of power execution procedures in China. From this day forward, the execution procedures of China’s highest power will enter a new system. The final decision-making power in this new system has been transferred from the Xi Jinping group to the “Central Committee Decision-Making and Coordination Body” created by the “July 1st Mechanism.” However, the construction of this power mechanism has structural flaws. These structural flaws mean that none of the three parties involved are completely victorious or completely defeated. None of them have completely won or completely perished. The possibility of one party suddenly being completely resurrected or another suddenly being completely destroyed cannot be ruled out.
